Computing Resources

All classrooms have audio/visual equipment and wireless internet connection is available through the entire Physic Bldg. A state-of-the-art computer laboratory equipped with PC and Macintosh computers is conveniently located within the Physics Building. These computers run software such as Mathematica and Matlab.

The Department owns several high speed parallel computer clusters on-site and large-scale parallel clusters are available via the campus network (the Lewis and Clark Supercomputer Facility: Lewis is a Dell EM64T system with 512 processors, 640 GB of RAM, and 50 TB of disk using an Infiniband high speed interconnect infrastructure for both processor and storage access; Clark is a SGI Altix BX2 SMP machine with 64 1.5 GHz Itanium2 processors and 128 Gbytes of shared memory).


Library Resources


The Department maintains its own Newell S.Gingrich Physics Library which is home to current journals as well as an extensive book collection. The Physics Library is a branch of University of Missouri Ellis Library
