Title: Atoms to Mainframes, A journey with a physics education
A physics education is the foundation of my design work at IBM from superconducting electronics to optoelectronics to the world's largest computer systems. Most of the things I need to know for design I learned working in the physics labs at the University of Missouri and University of Wisconsin.

The morning session will begin with the inauguration by Jim Coleman, MU Vice Provost for Research and plenary talks. We break for coffee around 10:30. Technical sessions begin later on. Leaders are free to attend talks, meet students, faculty, alumni and visitors and plan their day according to their choice.
